Dad's recovery progress seems to be accelerating and it looks like he may be discharged at the end of the month!
He can walk some distance with and without his walker. Although improving, he is still having trouble getting his arms up all the way but they think that is just a matter of healing and time.
Dad had his first outing yesterday since the accident where he wasn't destined for a medical treatment or appointment. I checked him out of the rehabilitation center Saturday afternoon to play cards with our euchre club Saturday night. He is a regular in the club and everybody was happy and surprised to see him. Dad had fun and was happy to be out. Since our club plays in the clubhouse of Dad's complex, we popped into his place, the first he has been in there since the accident. Dad was back at the rehabilitation center by 11:15 Saturday night and he was exhausted. Although he had fun, he couldn't wait to climb into bed.
It was good to see him mobile and socializing again. Although it is raining tonight as I write this, the forecast is better than it has been in a while.
