The visit with Dad was good today. He was more awake than any other time prior and he was able to answer questions by nodding. While he was awake, we read him more of the birthday and well-wishing cards, Nancy read the daily prayer to him and we gave him an update on his status.
Because he was in a more aware state, Dad was "complaining" of being uncomfortable as he struggled against the ventilator. Anyone that has been on one knows the fight; trying to breath on your own but the machine is dictating the cadence and it feels as if you are suffocating. They ended up giving him a sedative to ease him and out he went.
Although he has a long way to go, his progress today made it a great day.

Great job Karl! Now to just get you out of there and into the comfort of your own bed is what we continue to pray for! Progress is a wonderful thing and we couldn't be happier for you and the family!
With much Love and Prayers :)
