The doctor informed us that they removed the ventilator tube from Dad this morning and he is breathing without it!
Yay! :)
Today is Jeff's birthday (and Matt's too!) and he said that this was a great birthday present!
Communicating with Dad is still an issue as we wait for his voice to return after the use of the ventilator. It is challenging devising ways to get a concern or question from him understood-just ask Nancy and Darrell. After talking to them tonight, "I see why"! :)
Dad also sat in the chair for period of time and stood on his own for a couple of minutes today; slow but significant progress.
With the ventilator removed, Dad is a different person today; we are seeing more of the Dad we are used to.
Today was a GOOD day. :)
