Dad's medical condition has stabilized. Medically there is not much they can do to improve his condition; the current care is to sustain him. At this point Dad's body is in the long process of healing itself. It is tiring him as he slept, without sedation, the entire time I was there.
The nurses tried to get Dad out of bed today but he shook his head indicating he did not feel like it.
His tracheotomy is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday but the doctors are still trying to wean him from the ventilator. The hope is that he will be strong enough to breathe on his own Monday and then cancel the surgery.
Hang in there Dad.
